Privacy Complaint Procedure
1. Our commitment
GG Consulting & Advisory respects the privacy of individuals and takes concerns about the handling of personal information seriously. We aim to handle privacy complaints fairly, confidentially, promptly and without disadvantaging anyone for raising a concern. This procedure applies to complaints about how we collect, use, disclose, store, protect or otherwise handle personal information, including information submitted through our website, business enquiries and Local Partner Programme applications.
2. How to make a privacy complaint
You may submit a privacy complaint in writing to support@ggconsultingandadvisory.com, with the subject line “Privacy Complaint”, or by post to GG Consulting and advisory Pty ltd, 33 Rowe Street, Eastwood NSW 2122. Please include, where possible, your name and preferred contact details; a description of your concern and what happened; the approximate date of the incident; the type of personal information involved, without including unnecessary sensitive information; any relevant reference number or supporting documents; and the outcome you would like us to consider. You do not need to use particular legal language to make a complaint. If you need assistance submitting your complaint, please contact us using the details above.
3. Acknowledgement and assessment
We will acknowledge receipt of your complaint as soon as reasonably practicable. We will assess the issues raised, determine whether further information is needed and identify the appropriate person to review the matter. Where practicable, the complaint will be handled by someone who was not directly involved in the matter being complained about. If the complaint raises an urgent privacy or security risk, we will consider appropriate immediate steps to reduce potential harm.
4. Investigation
We will make reasonable enquiries into the complaint. This may include reviewing relevant records, website submissions, communications, access permissions and our applicable privacy practices. We may contact you to clarify the circumstances or request information reasonably necessary to investigate the matter. We will handle information obtained during the investigation in accordance with applicable privacy obligations.
5. Response and resolution
We aim to provide a substantive written response within 30 days of receiving your complaint, where practicable. Our response will explain our findings, any relevant actions taken or proposed, and the reasons for our decision. Depending on the circumstances, possible outcomes may include correcting inaccurate information, providing access to personal information where required, improving internal procedures, addressing an inappropriate disclosure, or taking steps to reduce the likelihood of a similar issue occurring. If we need additional time, we will let you know, explain the reason where appropriate and provide an estimated response timeframe.
6. If you are dissatisfied with our response
If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you may reply to us explaining which aspects remain unresolved and what further action you are seeking. Where appropriate, we will review the matter further. You may also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if the matter falls within its jurisdiction. Telephone: 1300 363 992. The OAIC generally expects you to raise your complaint with the organisation first and give it a reasonable opportunity—usually 30 days—to respond. Certain industries may have a separate external dispute resolution process. External complaint options depend on the circumstances and applicable law.

7. Confidentiality and records
We will limit access to complaint information to people who reasonably need it to assess, investigate or resolve the matter, subject to applicable legal requirements. We will maintain appropriate records of complaints, investigations, responses and corrective actions, and retain or dispose of those records in accordance with our legal obligations and record-management practices.
8. No adverse treatment
We will not knowingly penalise or disadvantage a person simply because they have raised a privacy concern in good faith.
9. Review of this procedure
We may review and update this procedure to reflect changes in our business operations, privacy practices or applicable legal requirements. Last updated: 26 November 2024.
